This is a long story.
A few weeks ago I installed SQL Express 2005 on my Vista machine and had everything working well. The upsizing went fine and I found that I really liked the SQL from 2005, unlike the rubbish I've had to put up with the Jet engine - I love the ANSI standard that I used to work with in Oracle.
Because I have been experimenting for work on placing existing Access databases serverside due to an expected fleet upgrade and rollout to Vista, I also installed Oracle's 11j and experienced all sorts of problems. Eventually, I scrubbed the C: drive and made it into a dual boot with XP on one partition (for Oracle) and Vista on another (for SQLExpress 2005). Since then, I cannot get an Access database to upsize. The Upsizing Wizard Report tells me the tables were skipped or the export failed. Nothing is created in Express, no tables, views, procedures etc. No database at all!
The weird thing is that I can create databases in Express and have the demo AdventureWorks there to prove it, I can create an Access .adp project linked to Express and have created an ODBC connection between the two that works fine. It's just that the upsizing will not work.
