I have a couple of instances that have databases labeled BBSN_xxxx_Master and BBSN_xxxx_Model. They appear to be system generated, any idea what these are?

Not a clue but the first thing that comes to mind is BRAVE BISON GROUP PLC
BTW, I would sell any shares in BBSN ASAP

Do you use ArcServe backup? [Or its equivalent, if it's now been bought out by another company.] Somewhere in the mists of my mind I believe some backup package created those dbs? for temporary use??
You could also try marking "don't maintain databases that are offline" or some such setting in the Maintenance Plan. [I'm a DBA, so I never use MPs, but I think the wording in the options you can set in the MP is similar to that.]
SQL DBA,SQL Server MVP(07, 08, 09) "It's a dog-eat-dog world, and I'm wearing Milk-Bone underwear." "Norm", on "Cheers". Also from "Cheers", from "Carla": "You need to know 3 things about Tortelli men: Tortelli men draw women like flies; Tortelli men treat women like flies; Tortelli men's brains are in their flies".
