All the forum posts seem to have an Edit button on them, see screenshot attached as example.

When clicking the button, it takes me back to the last post I made in a different forum area and reports "Post added successfully" , eg click edit in SQL2012 forum post, take me back to SQL2008 area where I made my last comment.

That's certainly a bug if it's happening.

All your posts should be editable by you only and I use this button at least weekly. It seems to work well for me.

I'll ask a few people to test.

Steve, I have been able to edit my own posts with no issue. I think what the OP is reporting is that there is an edit button for everybody's posts (which is a bit strange). If I click the edit button for somebody else's post it seems to take me back to my last actual post. A little strange but why are we trying to edit somebody else's post in the first place?

Andrew,

Are you trying to edit your own posts or other peoples'? You cannot edit other peoples' posts.

Steve, the Edit button is on everyone's posts.. I'm not trying to edit them on purpose, just wondering why the button was there. I thought that I might have been accidentally assigned moderator rights :-). Check the screenshot in my first post, you can see two different users have posted forum comments, but I can see an Edit button on both posts.

It's always been like that for everyone. However you can't actually edit other people's posts.

It's a bug in the forum software. It's on our list to fix up, but it's never been a big priority.
