Recursive Query for bill of materials with revisions

  • I was able to follow other examples and write a recursive query for a bill of materials. The problem I have is that we may have multiple revisions of the same part with only one rev being approved. How would I link the PartRev table to a recursive query to only bring back part materials for revisions that are approved(approved = 1). For example, Part 30 has 2 revisions below and revision 2 is approved.

    PartMtl Table

    PartNumRevisionNumMtlPartNum QtyPer

    10 1 15 2

    30 1 20 1

    30 1 23 1

    30 2 20 1

    30 2 25 1

    40 1 35 2

    PartRev Table

    PartNumRevisionNumApproved

    10 1 1

    30 1 0

    30 2 1

    40 1 1

  • Any reason why you can't just JOIN the approved revisions table on partnum and revisionnum and then select WHERE approved=1?
