Hi,

The following database HA already configured

Primary server
SQL SERVER 2008 R2 64 bit,
HA: Database mirroring
Witness: Not configured
Mirror Mode: High Performance
Failover: manual
Backup: Every 30 min Transaction Log backup configured in principal server

When move the secondary server to change another location then what are steps need to be follow on primary server? IP address and server name will be remaining same after moving the secondary server.

1.Just pause the mirroring session in primary server when shutdown the secondary server

2.Re-start the mirroring session after placed secondary server to another location; duration may be 8 hrs will take for placing another location.

Please confirm these steps are sufficient?

Thanks
ananda

pausing not strictly necessary but yes those are the steps. Take a log backup just before you start.

The log of the primary will fill whilst the secondary is down so just make sure you have enough log space. If you run out of log space you will have to remove mirroring.
