Hi All,

My client is planning to do a daily sycn using backup / restore script. weekly full backup follwed by daily incremental backup to be apply on the secondary server and incase of DR the secondary server will come up using a recover script.

Is there any script available to automate all the process in batch file which will do the backup / restrore activity daily wise.

Waiting for your input.

Thank you all.

Cheers,

Have you thought about using database mirroring or log shipping?

Yes we have proposed it but they are not ready for mirroing or log shipping. As the database is very much static and small in size hence daily backup sync is suitable for their environment.

Thats i why Iam looking for a automate script which will do full backup + daily diff.backup and on sec. server it will restore the diff. backup.

Whatever you use whether it be

  • Log shipping

  • database mirroring

  • Backup\restore

  • some wierd and wonderful concoction of your own

Remember that server level objects such as logins, agent jobs, etc, etc need to be replicated as a further task to the above.
