Here i have configured the mirroring. after that i want to add the data file to primary.

can we add the data file?

if we add is there any impact on mirror server and those data file will be add in mirror server or

here both principal and mirror are in synchronization mode.

same is it possible to add in log shipping also. is there any impact on it.

please provide the procedure.

As long as the file paths exist on both the principal and mirror server you can add the new data file to the principal and it will be created on the mirror. If the file path does not exist on both then see this article.

You might try Bing or Google next time. There are plenty of articles about these topics...

Last note: The article on mirroring by Perry has a slight error in the restore script. It is obvious that he meant to restore that on the MIRROR by the path used. But he referenced the wrong drive. Just check that when using that example so as to avoid some confusion.
