We just had an incident in which users across various databases suddenly were affected by blocking. I can usually track it down to a table lock or something, but this time it appears it was caused by "sys.sp_sproc_columns". I have a utility to log blocking events, and the blocker process is "sys.sp_sproc_columns;1"

Any thoughts or comments on this ? Sorry I don't have any more useful information yet.
