I have a SQL server 2008 box that is used for hosting SQL server.
I got an error in the windows system log:
Logfile: System
Event Type: Error
Event ID: 10
Computer: mycomputer.mycomany.com
Source: VDS Dynamic Provider
Text:
The provider failed while storing notifications from the driver. The Virtual Disk Service should be restarted. hr=80042505
Any one knows what exactly this mean? This is a physical box, no virtual disk.
And I don't think we have an application that calls the virtual disk service,
I did find an article about this online http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948275
, but I really don't undstand what is the virtual disk service, and what does it have to do with SQL server and with a server with physical drives?
Thanks
