Is it possible to assign different publications from the same publisher, to different distribution databases located on a different server? Example: Server A has 2 publications (Delta and Echo). Server B has 2 distribution databases (Delta_Distribution and Echo_Distribution). Can you assign the Delta publication to the Delta_Distribution database and likewise for Echo?
I was reading the following article.
http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Replication/69663/
Which lead me to believe that you cannot assign different publications within the publisher to different distribution databases? On the distribution server, in the distribution properties, you must select one distribution database that serves as the default for all publications that are inherent in that publisher. Therefore, if you have only one Publisher and one distributor, can you not scale out the distribution databases?
Thanks,
DK
