Ok the following features are having issues when I do the installation (SQL Server 2012 dev on Windows 8 Pro)
Reporting Services Native
Database Engine Service
DQS
Full Text and Semantic Extraction for Search
SQL Server Replication
Listed the message for database engine below. On the way through the installation there was an error message that said
"Wait on database engine recovery handle failed. Check the SQL Server error log for potential causes.
Action required:
Use the following information to resolve the error, uninstall this feature, and then run the setup process again.
Feature failure reason:
An error occurred during the setup process of the feature.
Error details:

Wait on the Database Engine recovery handle failed. Check the SQL Server error log for potential causes.

Any suggestions gratefully received. This is like the hundredth time I have tried to install SQL Server.
Oh and I have disabled the firewall.

Well we are about half way there.
Got SQL Server Database Engine up and running. I was expecting SSAS and SSIS to be available via SSMS.
However when I go to connect to them I get a message 'Unable to establish Server mode (object explorer)"
Integration Services is there in Object explorer
I got the installation to work by changing the TCP/IP away from 1433 for both
SQL Native Client 11.0 Configuration (32 bit)
SQL Native Client Configuration
Should I have both of these?
Any recommended ports for them to use??
