For SQL Server 2005 on XP it would be "Documents And Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\SQL Profiler\9.0\Templates\Microsoft SQL Server\90". Basically user templates are stored in the user profile, wherever that may be in the various OS's.
Technically you can copy from there to the templates folder, but that doesn't show that it is a user template.
