Yippee! Someone's talking sense for a change! Written specs can never fully cover what users actually require. The simple reason is that translating what they want on to paper is not the same as seeing it on the screen. So many times when I show a screen to users they pick up items that are missing or not required, and ask questions like "How can I do XYZ from here?". Feedback is so much more useful and the customer is involved in the process. A win-win every time.
