What's the state of the services (SQL and SQL agent) you're seeing ? Are they empty or you can start / stop them ?

Inside the registry, you can find all the services under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services. There, you'll find a Key for SQL and another for SQL Agent, but before removing them, make sure the uninstall was successful and that SQL is not really installed on the box.
