Ethanol -- Poor ROI - Yah it is cheap but it is subsidized and takes more fuel to create than it returns

Switchgrass ethanol and sugar cane ehtanol are far more effective than corn based ethanol.

Well had a chance to run E85 in my Avalanche this past week (Chevy had a promo of 85.9 cents per gallon). My experience was a 25% loss in efficiency so now I know my break even mark. As for the fuel to make it I am still trying to find somewhere where the ROI is as bad as everyone says. E85 is nothing more then moonshine with 15% gas added to make sure it is undrinkable (they should repel that so you can run straight moonshine) and it really doesn't take that much to make moonshine, as well you could make similar enough alcohol without heat (grain silos have alcohol on the bottom from mositure and heat induced by weight). Also, the left over product is high quality cow feed for the most part. But the loss does require a more economical difference which here it is only 5% at the most lower than the cost of regular gas.
