    What does the date represent in the string? I have two instances on my machine Standard and SQLExpress with 2 different dates.

    Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.1406.00 (Intel X86) Mar 3 2007 18:40:02 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition on Windows NT 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 2)

    and

    Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.2047.00 (Intel X86) Apr 14 2006 01:12:25 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Express Edition on Windows NT 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 2)

    by the way the first is not in this list.
