With the number of SQL Server instances we have here there is no way I could apply most of the CUs that are released.  The amount of application folks testing time would be astronomical.. and they are stretched to the limit now. Some of our purchased apps do NOT support CUs and have told me if you apply them you are out of support with us because we do not test those.
