Interesting.. we have NetApp FAS2240-4 if I remember its number correct (with SATA disks).

It is connected over Ethernet to VMware hosts.

We tested the performance with iSCSI and it was awful

Then we switched to NFS and it's more or less OK now.

Does it contradict your summary?
