Home Forums Reporting Services SSRS 2012 Sharepoint Integration requires Local Instance? RE: Sharepoint Integration requires Local Instance?

I am having a disagreement with my sharepoint administrator.

They are saying that if we want to have SSRS in SharePoint integrated mode that they need an SQL local instance installed on every sharepoint server in the farm. Yet I was thought that we only needed to install the SSRS sharepoint parts on the sharepoint servers and then could point back to my SQL cluster?

    Thanks

No, you don't need to install SQL Server on every SharePoint server in the farm.

I just checked on our SharePoint farm and there are definately some servers without a SQL Server database engine (the SP app server for example).
