    For example, let's say I want to hide the "Microsoft's watermark" in this picture, can I use a second image?

    Yes, you can use a second image: one that is officially available without a watermark.

    But you'd still be responsible to either have permission to use that picture or you'll have to add the source where you've got that picture from.
