    However I think version of SQL server should be mentioned in question as Remote maintenance plans can not be accessed by Log file Viewer in SQL Server 2008.

    Fair enough. I've corrected this to 2012. I've been working on 2012 and 2014 only for a few years, so I didn't think about back-checking to 2008.
