Agreed. There's just too many variables. Example: I personally only usually use views to consolidate a standard approach to get a particular component of data in an optimal way.
IE: I need everyone with Medicare payments in the last 30 days.
If there's a few dozen views that lean on that single point of logic organization, do you really want to un-nest them?
You have to approach them like any other piece of code. Individually research the effects of removing the nesting and look for code re-usage possibilities that are being leveraged that you're about to destroy and up your maintenance.
