I assume the lic upgrade modifies some of the system dbases ??

We have a 2 node STD sql 2008 sql failover cluster running A/P modeWe want to upgrade the sql lic from STD to ENT but do not want any downtime.
Ie. Rolling Upgrade..
Is this straight froward of upgrading the passive node, testing access to dbases (incl system dbases) via passive, then failover active to passive, and upgrade the new passive..
What about rollback.. if the first stage upgrade of the passive works, but we get dbase errors. can we rollback the upgrade on the passive, does it cause any issues with the master dbase etc..

This node can be either active or passive, and the engine does not bring the resources offline during the Edition Upgrade. After the edition upgrade it is required to either restart the SQL Server instance or failover to a different node.
