I tried your suggestion but did not get the results i need.

So I re-designed the report using this groups:

Parent group: Sales/Purchases

.... Child group: accounting_period (Month)

.... Child group: Tax Code

Detail row

It groups the data correctly ( I didn't delete group columns on the left on purpose to see how it groups)

"SALES-Parent_PeriodTax-Children.jpg"

But...

It doesn't break the table into these groups.

I only see now two table groups:

SALES/Month:2007

PURCHASES/Month:2008

which is wrong.

Maybe something is wrong with my report design still..
