What I'd like to see is for MS to get back to some grass roots programming to make T-SQL what it should/could be. For example, fix Bulk Insert and BCP .....Make a Bulk Export that's as easy to use as Bulk Insert. Stop farting around .....fix PIVOT so that it's at least as it is in Access.

I'd also like to see crystal clear, unambiguous licencing that doesn't require a team of lawyers to understand.
I wish they'd port SQL Server to Linux but that is unlikely to happen. I'm seeing all our web servers and app servers in an accelerating move to Linux so we end up with a huge Linux estate and the remaining Windows servers are SQL Server. The inevitable will happen. "The rest of our estate is on Linux, find a DB platform that runs on Linux".
