Generally that error means that something is not set up right in your new domain. For instance, the only occasions I can recall seeing it are when the DNS server on the client machine was set incorrectly--Active Directory uses DNS to find the servers on the domain, and if the DNS server it's configured to use returns the wrong values, it will cause errors like this. No idea if that's the specific problem in your case, but it's definitely worth checking.
