    Yes I agree - I think it might be that - as I was testing the BI functions within 2012 - and may have changed the 2005 MP's on the production server - not 100% sure - but possibly.

    So the question is - how do I maintain it now if that is the case - to revert back to SQL 2005 SSMS -

    I will be upgrading to 2008 next week though - possibly resolve it then.

    Log into the SQL2005 server and go into Mgt Studio, open up the Maint plan and just do a save and see if it saves it. That may reset it. If not, you may have to delete it and recreate it.

    This is the bit that I cannot do .... when I click on Modify - SSMS does nothing, it will not open the plan ! - which is the problem.

    I will upgrade next week to SQL 2008 R2, then check the plans - If I can modify - problem solved, if not, simple enough to recreate.
