Thanks for you reply Scott. 'Plague' is a polite word for Sharepoint! I was only originally tidying up some loose ends on an SBS 2008 installation, including the SBS console and Windos Update Services. Although we don't use Sharepoint I like to have things tidy and working! But after two days of trying to reinstall and reading many...many...many blogs etc, still no joy. I think I may have made a mistake during my other tidying relating to SQL 2005 and upgrading to SQL 2008 and SQL 2008R2, all of which now seem to be on the Server! I'll follow your link after celebrating the New Year.
