In order for the elves to find the items
A spatial index is the only right one for this task.
Since Elves do not exist on this Planet/Reality it was the only thing that made sense.... 😉
Right choice, wrong reason -- it should be a spatial index because Santa makes his deliveries by region (just think of all of the extra travel, if he first delivered in Hong Kong and then NY, and then California and then Germany, not to mention the problem of sunrise...it has to be a spatial index).
