Unable To See (Select) Days Option In Setting Up Maintenance Plan

    I'm working on a SQL 2000 system (8.00.2056 with SP4 / Desktop Engine) and trying to set up a maintenace plan.

    I'm attempting to set up a mainteance plan and select 3 and then try to select Days in the Remove Files Older Than section... however, the dropdown tab is empty! Can't select Days. Minutes, Hours, Weeks, Months.... none of them are there.

    Any ideas what might be causing that?

    I haven't worked with SQL 2000 for quite a while but I remember seeing this before. If I remember correctly I dropped the job restarted SQL Server and tried setting up the job again.

    Thank you for the suggestion. We rebooted the SQL server and that didn't resolve the issue.

    Does anyone have any other ideas?

    Just an FYI in case someone should come across this issue too.

    Make sure the following registry key exists. If not, then create the key and populate it accordingly.

    Key=BackupDirectory

    Type=String

    Location=HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/MSSQLServer/MSSQLServer

    Value=C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\BACKUP

    This resolved the issue.
