i have installed SQL server 2005
but i had a warning message while try to start the SQLSERVERAGENT service
"SQLServerAgent service on local computer started and then stopped. some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example the performance logs and alerts services"

And also i don't have the SQLAGENT.OUT file in the following path: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\LOG

Please help me to start the SQLSERVERAGENT service

Check the application event log and post the error that you are getting there.

This is a error that usually appears when you are using a evaluation copy and if the 180 day period is expired.

This may not be in your case though.

Check the Application and Security logs in Event Viewer.

Services often fail to start because they do not have the correct privileges. If this is the case, and you have Audit: Logon Event: Failure configured in Windows, then you will get an entry in the Security log. Check the Logon Type and compare it to the information here http://www.windowsecurity.com/articles/Logon-Types.html
