Net framework version not updated in SQL server 2016 expess edition

    Dear

    I have installed latest net framework 4.7 on windows server 2016 standard OS , but the SQL 2016  express edition (menu -> help) keeps saying that the version is 4.0.
    This version is not anymore supported for the app I'm working with, I need minimum 4.6 version .

    Hope someone can guide me in this.

    the .net version of SQL Server has nothing to do with what your code does. Unless its a CLR, and even that I think it will still allow it.

    Why do you think it would be a problem?

    Not only that, but now that I read your post again it seems you are referring to the version that SSMS requires - that has nothing to do with what SQL Server requires.

    Dear 

    thanks, indeed, software was not working because of another issue.  after again some hours, finally the connection to the SQL works .

    Hope to optimize it and make it faster.. hmm.
