We have a SQL 2014 box with approx. 150 databases that are performing log shipping to three other SQL 2014 servers. (DR, REPORTING & MARKETING)
Occasionally when our vendor does major updates to the software we need to remove LS config and set back up again after completion. Doing it via the GUI for 150 DB's x 3 servers takes a VERY long time.
I thought I would try get it all scripted to reduce the time it takes to re-setup. In the log shipping options in the GUI there is the option to "Script Configuration", which you would assume would script everything that i'd just configured in the GUI but it is missing the most critical component, the initial full backup and restore of the DB. I set the option "Yes, generate a full backup of the primary database and restore into the secondary database (and create the secondary database if it doesn't exist)" but that is missing from the script.
Is this normal?
I don't really want to have to also script out the backup and restore component of the 150 databases
