Given the DB's has many kernel/user space interaction. I see cloud as a bad place to have data in the context of Spectre/Meltdown.
I'm an advocate for cloud adoption but I've had to re-assess this in light of threats.
It's going to take a while for chips to be replaced so hopefully this is a temporary problem.
Not saying on-prem DB's are protected, especially from Spectre but I do think risks are lower.
