My work machine died last week, so I got issued with a replacement. It's still Win 7 image, so I can't install 2016 or 2107 and I lost my local cache of MSSQL install media with the old machine.
Does anyone have a working link for 2014 Developer Edition? No sign of it on Visual Studio Dev Essentials or MSDN

On Dev Essentials, you can search the downloads, search on SQL Server. It will bring you to this page with 2014 -2017 downloads:

Thanks for that. Turns out I was being dense, I thought I was signed up for VS Dev Essentials just because I'd gone through the "sign up for VS Dev" process, signed into my MS id and had my name appearing up top left. Turns out I missed the step to go to the My Subscriptions tab and click the button to activate the free subscription (I have questions over the webdesign on that one. given I went through their join up process, whatevs). Once that was cleared up I started getting search results!
But I wouldn't have got there without your link, so ta.
