Hi all,
I need to come up with a decent SSRS config & would appreciate your advice.
My estate is as follows:
All windows & SQL 2008 R2.
1 x 3 node cluster - 8 x high profile SQL 2008 R2 instances. No SSRS. Some manageable memory & IO pressure.
1 x standalone - 1 x low profile SQL instance. SSRS already installed. No performance issues atm.
1 app team, with a SQL backend on one of the instances on the cluster now require SSRS. < 10's of concurrent users. Data sets in the 100's. Reports written by me with performance in mind.
I know SRRS 2008 R2 is not cluster aware & do not want to try the "hacky" way to get it to be so. Some SSRS downtime can be tolerated.
Should I:
1 - use the existing SSRS on the standalone. create a seperate folder or URL for the reports for app 2 (if possible to seperate them from each other)
2 - install a 2nd SSRS on the standalone.
3 - install a new SSRS on one of the clusters - accepting this will not be cluster aware. Again, I'm presuming it's possible to install SSRS as if standalone on a clustered?!
I have no test rig. And if I do anything to affect the cluster, I will not be popular.
