Force a new page for a subreport - tablix group footer

  I have a report with a tablix, which is grouped.  In the footer I have subreports.  I am trying to force a page break after the detail lines of the tablix, so that the first subreport starts on a new page. I've tried inserting a rectangle in the first footer line and checking page break before, but it seems to be ignored.  I tried page break before on the subreport, but again, it seemed be ignored.

  Is there a way, when a subreport in in a group footer, to force a page break at the beginning,  I did try and insert a blank rectangle as the first footer line, again saying page break before, but it seems to be getting ignored.  The reports all run just fine - the only issue is the initially pagination
  Any help much appreciated.
