I am looking at a situation where we need to have several databases copied from a production environment to a sandbox environment on a regular basis.
Currently, one database is only partially transferred between the two environments using a set of data flow tasks to transfer a handful of tables (around 10 out of 100).
Since we are now looking to have full databases transferred rather than just a portion of it, would performance be better using a database transfer task than data flow tasks? I would think it would be.
We also use Data Protection Manager for backups, and I was wondering if I would be better off using powershell and DPM to load the MDF/LDF file that are backed up from our existing solution.
My other question was if there was a better option for using some kind of incremental system rather than having to load an entire backup/database every time, as the system would be running over a 50 meg pipe rather than gigabit as these are external sites.
