Hello all,
I have a primary site with a WFC. All data is replicated via alwayson to secondary site where i have one server.
Data is being replicated asynchronously. The failover/failback process is working as intended.
What i pretend now is to do a failure simultation where:
1 - i ll stop all communications between sites
2 - I ll force the cluster on the secondary site and will force the alwayson failure on it
3 - Primary site will keep working as usual.
After tests are done i pretend to simulate the failback where (I am not sure on what’s the best way to do it.)
1 - Will make sure replication is stopped in both sites
2 - Will take remove the DR from WFC node votes
3 - Will force AG failure on DR with (ALTER AVAILABILITY GROUP [AG_SQLTest] FORCE_FAILOVER_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS;)
4 - will start all communications between sites.
5 - Start DB replication Again
This is what i have planned. Although I have some doubts on failback i need help with it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Regards,
Arestas
