Hello all
I am attempting to install SQL Server 2014 Development Edition on an AWS Windows 2012 R2 server which has very little else on it.
After adding the prerequisite .NET Framework 3.5 'feature', I tried the installation. Most components (Management Tools, Integration Services, SQL Browser etc) were installed successfully, but the database engine was not.
The error message is as per the attachment:
Error installing SQL Server Database Engine Services Instance Features
Source file not found: [localpath]\SQLServer\x64\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\120\Shared\feb5puqn.dll. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Error code: 1308
The message is correct: the file is definitely not there. Nor is it anywhere else on my local hard drive, which already has the software installed (Windows 7 o/s).
If you try searching for that file on Google, there are currently zero results.
Has anyone seen it before or got any ideas what may be going on? Thanks.

It was an iso, but I extracted the files from it using 7-Zip and then did the install from the extracted files.

If you haven't even tried to resolve your issue, please don't expect the hard-working volunteers here to waste their time providing links to answers which you could easily have found yourself.

Maybe something went wrong during the download or extraction phase?

That's a new one for me, but I hope I've learned my lesson in the process.

I just had to dig that file out of the original ISO archive and add it to my extracted file structure and then everything worked as usual. Thanks again.

Thanks Phil and Koven. I'd been investigating this issue in a different angle. you both saved me a lot of time....
