Hello,
I've been having fits trying to install SQL 2008 Express on a virtual machine. It always gives me an error that it cannot find sqlncli_64.msi and says the network resource where it resides is no longer available. However, I was not installing off the network.
As a test, I tried removing the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Native Client first, and then SQL 2008 Express installed without a problem.
Does anybody have an idea of how I can have both of these on the same computer? I would try installing in the other order but our standard image has the Native Client on it already.
Thanks.

Hmm, just noticed that the 2008 Express install also installs the SQL Native Client. That could be a good development!

It installed an older version of the Native Client but I was able to update it.
