  • Hi,

We run a PHP website with SQL Server 2008 R2 back end and for as long as I can remember we have been hit with the following alert:

The login packet used to open the connection is structurally invalid; the connection has been closed. Please contact the vendor of the client library. [CLIENT: XXX.XX.XX.XX]

The IP Adress listed in the Client tag is one of our web servers.

On average we can get anything from 20->60 of these message in 1 day - sometimes we can bit hit with anything up to 50 in a matter of seconds....

Having been searching online but not really getting anywhere - any ideas out there?

    Thanks in advance,

    JayK

You'll want to do what is says in the error message, contact the vendor that made your client library on the web server.

  • I dont know if this is any help to anyone anymore but i encountered this error yesterday night and it seems our CISO was running a scanner to check the database for vulnerabilities

    Hope this helps

  • I experienced the same error messages. It was determined to be a vulnerability scanner at work.
