Have You Deployed an Availability Group?

  • I followed the Ryan Adams blog post on building a cluster in Hyper-V a few months ago. I've been working with clusters for years but had never actually built one from the ground up. It really helped clear up some concepts for me, I found it extremely beneficial and I would definitely recommend following it.

Well, once you've deployed an Availability Group, it's impossible to just forget about about. It's an endless source of trouble tickets.

  • Hi Steve, you have HA/HR in your msg. Dumb question:

I get Human Resources, what's HA mean?

Interesting - I am running both an FCI and an AG in the same cluster and have not had one trouble ticket based on either configuration.  When I first implemented an AG I did run into a couple of issues...but once they were resolved I haven't had any issues.

What trouble tickets are you seeing related to AG?
