Upgrade SQL 2000 Standard to Enterprise (SP3)

    We need to upgrade one of our SQL 2000 Standard machines to Enterprise. Everything I have read people have said they were on SP4. Does it matter what service pack you are on when you upgrade? This server is on SP3 and since the application is rather unstable we are hesitant to upgrade it to 4.

    Service Pack DOES matter for SQL Server's health.

    You'd better test the SP before you move on.

    [font="Verdana"]Why you are again going for SQL 2000 Enterprise, since the official support for SQL 2000 is already closed by MS. Better go for SQL 2005.[/font]
