Hi - I'm running WinXPPro and need a utility that will allow me to connect to SQL Server 2000 over the Internet. I tried TOAD, but that does not work. Any suggestions? Do I need to buy SQLserver?

You could install IIS on your machine and then try the Web Data Administrator from Microsoft,
You could also try myLittleAdmin

If toad does not work, then the server may be unreachable. Is it behind a firewall? Or is your XP SP2 firewall turned on and blocking port 1433? Try pinging the ip of your remote machine first to see if you can even get to the machine.
Good luck

Any of the SQL Server client tools should work if the SQL Server is directly accessible (typically not a good thing). Do you know if this is the case?
