you could use :
In your proc just set the dateranges (could use an available index (sargeble))
select ...
from yourobject
where mydatetimecol between @dateBegin
and @dateEnd
or
use the less performant (because non-sargeble)
select ...
from yourobject
where datepart(mm,mydatetimecol ) = @monthNo
