Hello,
I have a strange problem that has come up. I noticed my ODBC wasn't working for Access and SQL server databases. They WERE a while back though. So I went through the control panel to view the drivers, and there are none listed. It's like something has removed them?
I downloaded the SQL Server evaluation so I could start working with it, and it will not install due to this problem. If I try to install Access I get this error.
Error 1919 Error configuring ODBC datasource ODBC error 6: component not found in the registry.
I do have a registry cleaning program I run every now and then, so I restored the registry to its original state, rebooted numerous times. Still nothing works. This is really bugging me now. I'd appreciate any ideas you might have.
Thanks,
Will

What version of Windows are you running? Depending on the version and Service Pack, you might trying installing MDAC 2.8.

I got it figured out. If you have corel office suite on your machine, don't uninstall it!! lol It removes two registry keys needed for odbc. Luckily I have a laptop with the same OS, grabbed two keys from it, installed them back on my main machine, all is fine now.
Thanks,
Will
