nvarchar fields showing as US dates ?

  • We have dates sotred as character nvarchar fields in dd/mm/yyyy format but when you display or update these they are showing as mm/dd/yyyy. The server itself has the correct regional setting so suspect this is something embedded within SQL Server 2000 which defaults to interpret fields which look like dates and automatically display ten in US format.

  • It is probably the user login language setting. Look under EM and view anty particular user. Settings for server serve as a default when creating user accounts but when changed does not affect existing accounts.

If you find this to be the case and need to make sure all the users are set the same look here for a script to help.
