I do have a question. At work, some groups of people have an inordinate amount of power over others. In this case I am speaking of project managers and some managers. For a few years I've been trying to get the developers to use issues in repos in GitHub. They can be assigned to people, tracked over time, right there with the source code, etc. I even tried to the PMs to use GitHub issues, but they refused. Instead, there demand that we must use Smartsheet instead. But this has problems because over time a Smartsheet will lose relevance to a repo/project as people forget that it was supposed to be connected. Add to that the tendency to not grant access to the Smartsheet to the engineer who needs access to it, and you've got a system which doesn't service the project, but WOW the PMs couldn't care less. The PMs come across like they are God and should be obeyed or we're damned. There is never any discussion as to what will work. The only consideration is what do the PMs want.
I'm sure that some of you have similar experiences. What have you done to try and open up a dialog to decide on what will work for the group, rather than only 1 class of people?
