I've had my own NAS system in home office for 5-6 years now and feel pretty secure. Biggest risk now is fire or midwest tornados. I have plenty of backup space with a 40tb (4 drive) online NAS, four USB docked 3.5" hard drives and seven USB docked 2.5" drives. The largest problem is remembering what is where. Probably haven't had to fall something back more than a couple times this year and those not due to tech issuses but due to doing something stupid and it being easier to restore than to figure out the problem
